Walai.id, Nasional – Presiden Rusia, Vladimir Putin, berharap pembukaan Kedutaan Besar Rusia di Burkina Faso akan membantu mengembangkan kerja sama antara kedua negara, Minggu 30/07/2023.
“Kami menganggap penting untuk mengembangkan hubungan dengan Burkina Faso. Khususnya, kami telah memutuskan untuk membuka kembali kedutaan besar Rusia yang ditutup sejak tahun 1992,” kata pemimpin Rusia itu dalam pertemuan dengan Presiden Burkina Faso, Ibrahim Traore.
“Saya yakin bahwa kinerja dari kedutaan besar Rusia akan memberikan dorongan tambahan bagi perkembangan hubungan kami,” tekankan Putin.
“Kami tahu bahwa di negara Anda, orang-orang melihat Rusia dengan simpati dan minat. Tuan Presiden, saya melihat dan mendengarnya dari Anda dalam pidato Anda kemarin,” kata Putin kepada Traore.
Kepala negara Rusia menjamin bahwa “Moskow akan terus membantu Burkina Faso dalam pelatihan personel nasional di bidang sipil di Rusia.” Menurutnya, “pada tahun akademik 2023/24, diberikan 10 beasiswa negara untuk Burkina Faso.”
“Jika Anda tertarik, kami akan mempertimbangkan kemungkinan peningkatan kuota ini,” janji Putin.
Berbicara pada KTT Rusia-Afrika di St. Petersburg, Presiden Rusia menyatakan bahwa dalam waktu dekat, Kedutaan Besar Rusia di Burkina Faso dan Guinea Khatulistiwa akan dibuka kembali setelah jeda panjang.
Pada tanggal 28 Juli, Wakil Menteri Luar Negeri Rusia, Utusan Khusus Presiden untuk Timur Tengah dan Afrika, Mikhail Bogdanov, mengatakan kepada Media, bahwa hampir semuanya sudah siap untuk pembukaan dua misi diplomatik tersebut, dan ada juga rencana untuk membuka kedutaan besar di Sudan Selatan dan konsulat jenderal di kota Benghazi, Libya.
