Wakil Ketua Komisi VI DPR RI, Sarmuji, menekankan pentingnya peran Usaha Mikro, Kecil, dan Menengah (UMKM) dalam perekonomian nasional, Jumat 21/07/2023.
Upaya pengembangan UMKM diarahkan untuk dapat berintegrasi dengan ekosistem digital sehingga pelaku UMKM dapat mengembangkan pasar mereka secara lebih luas, bahkan hingga tingkat global.
Pernyataan tersebut disampaikan oleh Sarmuji dalam Kunjungan Kerja Komisi VI DPR RI di Rumah Badan Usaha Milik Negara (BUMN) Surabaya, Jawa Timur, baru-baru ini. Sarmuji menyoroti pentingnya peran UMKM dalam perekonomian Indonesia. Menurut data dari Kementerian Koperasi dan Usaha Kecil Menengah RI, pada tahun 2021, jumlah pelaku UMKM di Indonesia mencapai 64,2 juta dengan kontribusi bersih terhadap produk domestik bruto mencapai 61,07 persen.
Dengan jumlah yang signifikan dan daya serap tenaga kerja yang besar, sektor UMKM menjadi salah satu penopang utama perekonomian nasional. UMKM juga terbukti mampu bertahan melalui krisis moneter pada tahun 1998 dan masa pandemi Covid-19.
“UMKM ini menjadi perhatian kita. Karena UMKM adalah penyelamat perekonomian kita pada saat krisis dan menjadi penopang utama perekonomian kita, dengan 90 persen tenaga kerja kita berada di sektor UMKM. Kemajuan UMKM adalah kemajuan perekonomian Indonesia,” ungkap Sarmuji, seorang politisi dari Fraksi Partai Golkar.
Lebih lanjut, Sarmuji menyatakan bahwa dalam meningkatkan dan mengembangkan sektor UMKM, BUMN perbankan dan jasa keuangan harus mengambil peran aktif. Selain menyediakan dukungan permodalan, BUMN juga perlu terlibat dalam kegiatan pendampingan dan edukasi agar pelaku UMKM dapat meningkatkan kemampuan dan mencapai pasar secara digital.
“Kita sudah melihat bersama produk-produk UMKM kita, dengan didukung kurasi, pemantauan, dan promosi, ternyata tidak kalah dengan produk-produk pabrikan. Tentu kita berharap ini tidak berhenti di situ saja. BUMN harus melangkah lebih jauh lagi untuk mengatasi masalah-masalah UMKM,” ujarnya.
Selanjutnya, menurutnya, ada tiga hal yang perlu diperhatikan dalam pengembangan UMKM. Pertama, adanya rumah produksi bersama (factory sharing) bagi pelaku UMKM. Rumah produksi bersama memudahkan para pelaku UMKM dalam mengelola bahan mentah menjadi produk jadi.
“Kedua, rumah packaging. Ini menjadi masalah tersendiri karena banyak pelaku UMKM mengeluhkan ketidakstabilan suplai kemasan yang seragam di pasar. Misalnya, aluminium foil tersedia tetapi warnanya sesuai pesanan. Besok mungkin tidak ada, sehingga ini mengganggu citra merek UMKM,” terang Sarmuji.
Terakhir, pentingnya adanya rumah kurasi untuk melakukan seleksi terhadap produk UMKM sebelum produk tersebut dapat meningkat kelasnya. Dengan adanya kurasi, setiap produk akan memiliki standar mutu dan kelayakan bagi konsumen.
“Jika tiga hal ini dapat dilakukan oleh UMKM kita, maka dengan izin Allah, mereka akan maju, beralih ke digital, berjualan secara online, bahkan menjadi pemain global,” pungkasnya.
